The biblical admonition to care for our neighbors in need is clear. But how should we help? How can we ensure that our compassion for those in poverty also effectively addresses their needs? Is God calling you to help those in need?

The Thrive will focus on the connection between the ministries of Word and Deed, church-based mercy ministries, and how, as the body of Christ, we can build Christ-like relationships with those in need. We will explore the book When Helping Hurts and its helpful framework for individuals to think before helping. As agents of mercy, we should pray and consult before discerning when to offer relief, rehabilitation, and development help in times of need. In addition, we will invite individuals from our body with vast experience in local and global Mercy and Deed ministries.
