Crafts & Conversation

Craftsandconversation1

Recently our White Oak Community Group organized its first ladies’ craft workshop, in a series we’re calling “Crafts & Conversation.” The goal for the series is to facilitate fellowship among women by creating a relaxing environment for both conversation and creativity. We kicked off the series in October with a group of 12 enthusiastic ladies, and together we learned how to make our own customized scented candles. The night was full of tasty desserts, lighthearted fun, and best of all, newly formed friendships.

Each workshop in the Crafts & Conversation series will feature a different DIY craft project that each participant will be able to make and then take home. All the supplies will be provided, and someone will teach all the steps. Each woman will have her very own thing to take home and say “Look, I made this!” And don’t worry, creativity is not a prerequisite!

We had great success with our first event, and now we want to open the invitation to any woman at The Well who may be interested. This is the perfect venue to invite your friends to and perhaps meet new friends. Our tentative schedule is for the second Friday of each month at 7pm starting this December. We already have some great crafts and teachers lined up including: crocheting a coffee mug cozy, pysanky egg etching, and weaving a wall hanging. For the next workshop in December, we will be learning how to make super cute Christmas ornaments – you won’t want to miss it!

Stay tuned for details on future Crafts and Conversation workshops.

If you’re a crafty/creative person and would be interested in teaching a workshop in this series, we would LOVE for you to join the team. We will work with you to figure out how to adapt your craft to a workshop setting and will help with obtaining supplies.
