Easter Services: Special Opportunity for 3rd-5th Graders!
Calling all 3rd-5th graders!
Your 3rd-5th graders have been working hard to memorize the Romans Road to Salvation verses on Sunday mornings (at hopefully at home, too!). So we are inviting them to put their hard work on display! On Easter morning, we are inviting all 3rd-5th graders to recite these memory verses in front of the congregation. This is a great opportunity for the kids to:
- show the work they have put into Scripture memory
- participate in our vibrant, intergenerational church body
- be encouraged by the support of the adults in our community of faith
- share a concise version of the gospel with those who come for Easter who may be hearing it for the very first time that morning!
If you would like to have your child(ren) participate in this opportunity, we ask you to commit to the following:
- Have your child(ren) memorize the following verses:
- "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." -Romans 3:23
- "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." -Romans 6:23
- "But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."-Romans 5:8
- “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is confessing with your mouth that you are saved.”-Romans 10:9-10
- "For 'whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.'" -Romans 10:13
- Attend the practice session: April 5th from 11:00am-11:30am
- Easter Sunday time commitment: As the children will be reciting the Romans Road verses during both services, they will need to be present to practice and perform at both services on April 12th from 8:45am-11:45am. We will have food for them in between services.
Want your kid(s) to participate? Sign them up here!
As you go: Disciple your kids along the way!
- As you go throughout the weeks leading up to the big event, help your kids memorize these verses by listening to songs together! Click the links below to listen to each memory verse song.
- Talk to your kids about why we memorize Scripture:
- to know who God is, what He is like, and what He has done for us
- to know who they are in light of who God is
- to know how to fight sin
- to know how to love others
- to see the world through the lens of Scripture
- Talk to your kids about the significance of the Romans Road to Salvation verses. Watch this quick video here for an explanation of what the Romans Road verses teach us!
- Pray that the children would do more than simply memorize these verses. Pray that they would come to believe and cherish them and that the good news of the gospel would cause their hearts to sing this Easter and every day! And lastly, pray that God would work in the hearts of all who hear the performance.
